I am 67, and a Point Richmond resident for the last 40 years. I was born and grew up in New Jersey, moved to North Carolina where I went to high school, then north to college, got married and came to California. My son is all grown up and is a career officer in Army Intelligence. I'm very proud of him. I'm also proud of my husband, now retired from a career as a vehicle mechanic. What a smart and kind man he is, and he has been very good to me. My accomplishments are graduating from college with an AA degree in art from Contra Costa College, a B.A. in printmaking and art education from San Francisco State University (SFSU), a Masters in Creativity and Art Education from SFSU, and a teaching credential in art and introductory English from SFSU. My education included studying journalism at Contra Costa College and Laney College. I published a small neighborhood newspaper in Point Richmond in the 1970's and early 80's, which stopped because of illness. I am also proud of nearly five years of school teaching in San Francisco.
